Spring Flower Festivals to visit in 2016
Similar to Japan, Korea is blessed with magnificent weather and gorgeous flora especially during the spring.
The time of blooming for the Cherry Blossoms or Beot Kkot (벚꽃), differ from place to place. Here are some of the timings and suggestions on where you can see them!
Hwagae Cherry Blossoms Festival
The Hwagae region has a 6km road stretching all the way from the open air Hwagae Market, down to the Ssanggyesa Temple. The road is sometimes called the wedding road. Couple who walked down this road while holding hands are said to have everlasting relationships

Jinhae Gunhangje Festival
Held in the naval port city of Jinhae, the festival gives an amazing selection of activities to partake in.
You can spectate the military band as they parade through the city, or explore the exhibitions held in the normally closed off military port.
If those aren’t to your taste, there’s always walking through the flower tunnel. Experience the breath taking beauty as you walk through this passage at night, cherry blossoms lit magnificently.

Gurye Sansuyu Festival
This festival takes place in the Jirisan Mountain hot springs area!
Besides the hot springs itself, visitors can enjoy making and tasting rice wine. Other programmes include traditional performances and a fireworks display.

Taean Tulip Festival
The Spring Festival isn’t only all about Cherry Blossoms. Some other places in Korea also feature tulips!
The Taean Tulip Festival is currently one of the Top 5 Tulip festivals in the world!
For 2016, the theme will be “The Garden of Artist” and will showcase a variety of well-known portraits done in flowers, like the Mona Lisa or Marilyn Monroe.
